Any board member or any individual or group of citizens, students, or employees may propose in writing new policies or changes to existing policies.  The policy proposals shall be referred to the Superintendent for examination prior to board discussion.

The Superintendent, or his/her designee, as the policy draft writer for the Board, shall seek the counsel of the School Attorney when, in his opinion or the Board's there may be a question on proper legal procedure in the development of a proposed policy.

The Mississippi Public School Accountability Standard for this policy is Standard 2.
