Policy Code:	DJE Purchasing

Policy: It is the intention of the Ocean Springs School Board to purchase competitively without prejudice and to seek the maximum educational value for each dollar expended. All purchases which will be paid for with public funds shall be made pursuant to the purchasing laws of the State of Mississippi, Section 31-7-1 et seq. and 37-39-1 et seq. NOTE: The Mississippi Public Purchasing Laws have been amended by the Legislature each year for the past few years. To keep current, the Ocean Springs School District will obtain and review a copy of any amended public purchasing laws as soon as possible after the passage of the bill.
