The Ocean Springs School District believes it is important to assist employees with obtaining permanent housing. The District’s participation in such a program is allowed by Section 25-19-1, Mississippi Code of 1972. The District will participate in an eligible program in so much as funding is available. Employee participation is voluntary.
In order to participate in the program, the employee shall meet the following criteria:
- Be a full time employee of the Ocean Springs School District;
- Have completed 30 days of full-time employment;
- Be in good standing with the Ocean Springs School District;
- Must commit to continuing employment at the Ocean Springs School District for a minimum of two years in exchange for the loan;
- Must occupy the purchased home as his/her primary residence;
- Must meet program qualifications;
- Must complete program requirements; and,
- Must make a minimum contribution of $500 toward the home purchase.
